Viking Age of Ribe
In around the year 700, a market was founded in Ribe. The thousands of artefacts discovered in excavations in the area reveal the Vikings’ way of life and their trade with the rest of Europe.
Between the years 800 and 1100, the town was fortified on several occasions with a large moat and ramparts.
In the exhibition, you can see many of the impressive archaeological finds and learn how the Vikings traded, worked and crafted fantastic hand-made items.
You will also learn about their everyday lives, deaths and the ancient Norse religion.
